The techniques for rapid transference of large structures from offline construction into permanent position have been developed and refined by Hevilifts engineers over the past three decades. Those operations are predominantly carried out during road and rail closures, therefore the methods have to be tried, tested and technically sound. Technically advanced materials are used as the basis of our slide systems, generally combined with steel or stainless steel track elements. Whether pushing or pulling, high capacity long stroke hydraulic rams are utilised to create the means of transference, typically moving 3000 tonne structure at rates approaching 5m/hour. The thrusting of large concrete box structures in open cut has been carried out very successfully, without the requirement for pre-installed slide track. Especially suited to consolidated clay type ground conditions, this method has been used to move structures in excess of 4000 tonnes at rates up to 4m/hour. |
